That is indeed very good news, Don.

Hats off to the New Zealand Government, and to all those both in
government and in industry across the Tasman who helped make this
happen.

Great to see bipartisan support for the move in the NZ Parliament.

Great to see the relevant industry bodies & the profession institute in
NZ presenting a united front on patent reform too. No doubt that helped
extensively.

Interesting to note also in the Minister's third reading speech his
references to plans for a future common regime regulating patent
attorneys across New Zealand and Australia.

One would assume that the implementation of such a regime would be more
feasible if Australia were first to follow New Zealand's lead on patent
reform.
