[Osia-members] REMINDER: deadline to lodge proxies for the SGM is 5:30pm today

Morning, all.

Just a quick reminder that the deadline to lodge proxy forms for
Thursday's SGM is *today* at 5:30pm Eastern Summer Time (5pm Central
Summer Time; 4:30pm Eastern Standard Time; 4pm Central Standard Time;
2:30pm Western Standard Time).

That also means that if your membership subscription is not up to date
*and* you will not be attending the SGM in person, today is the last
day to renew your membership (or join if you haven't been a member
before) in order to vote by proxy at the SGM.

Note that, it being January, any membership subscription fees due for
the remainder of FY2017/18 are only payable at 50% of the rates shown
on that page.

How to tell whether your financial membership is current or not (noting
that, due to the extension granted by the 2017 board, many members
remain financial despite not having paid or been invoiced for membership
renewal during FY2017/18):

* if you received a paper copy of the SGM pack in the post, you are a
financial member;

* if anyone from your company is subscribed to the osia-fin@ list, your
company is a financial member;

* otherwise, you are not a financial member, unless/until you fill out
the form & pay the 2017/18 subscription.


Note also that two members of the interim board -- Ron Skeoch & Alexar
Pendashteh -- are attending LCA2018 this week. If you are at LCA2018
and would prefer to join or renew your membership by paying cash in
person, please feel free to seek out Ron or Alexar at LCA.


For reference, current fees for members joining/renewing now are:
* individual or sole trader, $60 (50% of $120);
* small company (1 to 10 employees), $87.50 (50% of $175);
* mid-sized company (11 to 200 employees), $202.50 (50% of $405);
* large company (201+ employees), $297.50 (50% of $595);
* joining fee (new members only), add $50 (no discount offered).

Note that for the purposes of being eligible to vote at the SGM if
you're attending in person (as opposed to by proxy), the deadlines are
(all times shown in Easter Summer Time):
* 5:30pm tomorrow (Wednesday) for new members joining for the first time
(regardless whether applying online or in person);
* 8am Thursday for lapsed members renewing online; and
* 5:30pm Thursday (start of SGM) for lapsed members paying their
renewals by cash.


Note also that the call for EoIs in serving on the 2018 board is still
open and will close at 5:30pm (Eastern Summer Time) tomorrow
(Wednesday).


Thursday's SGM is likely to be a significant event in OSIA's history --
I look forward to seeing many of you there in person, and receiving
proxy forms from those of you not able to attend in person.

Due to the nature of this particular meeting, lapsed members &
prospective members who do not renew/join in time are still most
welcome to attend (and at the chairman's discretion even speak -- but
not vote) at Thursday's SGM.
