Hi Cameron,
Many thanks for sharing this with us. This is a great presentation and
covers some of the core issues in a simple and easy to understand way.
Admittedly, being already committed the cause it would be easy for me to
understand and agree with the core proposition you made!.
My question to you would be the following:
Who was in the audience (ie: who exactly from the geospatial industry?
Scientist/IT, Managers ?) and how did they react? Did you get any
valuable feedback? Questions from the audience?
Do you think there is an opportunity here for further interaction
between the geospatial industry and the Open Source sector (business and
community) that can arise from this event. And how can OSIA assist?
Do others on this list have similar experience in a different field they
would like to share?
I myself gave a presentation to the Young Accountant network with a
similar content and slant but geared towards the accounting/finance.
