Good. Sometimes tricky to explain these matters to onlookers, but it's worthwhile.

Interesting article you linked to also, with the patent attorney representative sprouting a lot of FUD.

Bringing the Australian system more in line with the EU would be a good thing, which for decades already has checks such as
  "Is the invention non-obvious to an expert in the field?"
which of course does (and should) kill many nonsense claims that just get an okidoki from the USPTO.
